JEAN MONNET SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME INTRODUCED

As part of a series of promotional visits to public institutions and organizations conducted by the Directorate for EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an information session on the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme was held at the headquarters of the Union of Municipalities of Turkiye (UMT).

During the meeting, participants received detailed information on the fields of study supported by the programme, scholarship coverage, application requirements, required documents and the placement process. Questions from participants were also answered.

Established under an agreement signed between the Republic of Türkiye and the European Commission in 1989, the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme is one of the longest-running and most comprehensive EU-funded scholarship schemes in Türkiye.

Each year, the programme provides approximately 170 individuals with fully funded opportunities to pursue studies or conduct research for periods ranging from 3 to 12 months at universities or equivalent institutions in EU member states.

The quota allocated to the public sector offers an important opportunity for personnel working in public institutions and organizations to enhance their knowledge and expertise in the EU acquis and related policy areas.

Applications for the 2027–2028 academic year are open until October 27, 2026. Detailed information on application requirements and the necessary documents is available on the programme’s official website: https://jeanmonnet.org.tr
