Azerbaijan Delegation Visits Ankara

The Azerbaijani delegation paid a working visit to Türkiye hosted by the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (UMT). On the second day of the program, after visiting Anıtkabir, the delegation visited the General Directorate of Provincial Administration of the Ministry of Interior, the General Directorate of Local Governments of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and the Ankara Governorship. The delegation, including Aqil Qurbanov, Advisor from the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the Eastern Zangezur Economic Region, as well as directors and department managers. The delegation is informed about the institutional structures of local governments in Türkiye and held consultations.

Director General of Provincial Administration Selçuk Aslan stated that they were pleased to host the Azerbaijani delegation in Türkiye and emphasized that the strength of the brotherly states would strengthen the region. Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Növrəs Cəfərov stated that with the liberation of Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh Economic Regions from occupation, a new structuring has been made in the region and Türkiye's support is important for them in this process.

Within the framework of the program, Governor of Ankara Vasip Şahin received the delegation and shared information about the relations between the central administration and local governments. The delegation was then hosted by Deputy Director General Emrullah Töremen at the General Directorate of Local Governments of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, where they were informed about municipal revenues and organizational structure.
