First "Policy Dialogue" Meeting of SUMP Türkiye Was Held

The first "Policy Dialogue" meeting within the scope of the "EU Support for Promoting Sustainable Urban Mobility in Turkish Cities" implemented by the Union of Municipalities of Turkey (UMT) and funded by the European Union (EU) was held at the UMT. The meeting was attended by Dr. Hayri Baraçlı, Secretary General of UMT, Dr. Tijen İğci, Head of European Union Investments Department of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Göktuğ Kara, Transport Sector Manager of the EU Delegation, and representatives from Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs, Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Strategy and Budget Directorate, İLBANK, Ministry of Trade, General Directorate of Security, TurkStat and TOKI.

POLIS Network representative Marko Stanče made a presentation on the development of policy dialogue through international networks and organisations, and PANTEIA representative Chris Wensink gave information about the methodology and scope of the policy documents to be created within the scope of the project. Stakeholders also shared their opinions on the current issues, priorities and recommendations for the development of priority urban mobility measures and policy dialogue for urban resilience and post-disaster planning, implementation and investment.

Within the scope of the SUMP Türkiye Project, policy documents such as green and white books will be prepared and the policy dialogue process is aimed to be carried out rapidly.
