UMT Visits the Chamber of Civil Engineers

Prioritizing the development of relations with professional organizations from a public interest perspective, the Union of Municipalities of Turkiye (UMT) paid a visit to the Chamber of Civil Engineers under the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB).

The meeting was attended by UMT Deputy Secretary General Feridun Ulutaş, TMMOB Chamber of Civil Engineers Vice President Selçuk Uluata, and Secretary General Bülent Tatlı.

Ulutaş emphasized that enhancing cooperation between UMT and professional chambers would significantly contribute to strengthening the institutional capacities of local governments.

Vice President Selçuk Uluata and Secretary General Bülent Tatlı expressed their openness to joint efforts aimed at professional development and institutional capacity building, and noted that they would be pleased to carry out collaborative activities with UMT.

At the conclusion of the meeting, key areas to strengthen the cooperation between UMT and the Chamber of Civil Engineers were discussed. In this context, the Chamber was invited to take a more active role in UMT’s ongoing commission activities and sub-working groups. Potential areas of collaboration also included organizing joint congresses, symposiums, and workshops; developing training content; updating the pool of trainers; implementing joint training programs; and contributing articles to the Provinces and Municipalities journal.
