"EU for the Energy Transition: Covenant of Mayors in the Western Balkans and Türkiye" is a multi-donor project co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by GIZ in the Western Balkans and CPMA in TÜRKİYE. The project aims to combat climate change, raise awareness of the Covenant of Mayors (CoM) in the Western Balkans and Türkiye, support the energy transition in the region and build the capacity of local authorities.
The Multi-Level Governance Platform (MLGP) is a tool to facilitate effective cooperation between national, regional and local governments and other relevant stakeholders. Its purpose is to ensure that the needs of different levels and stakeholder groups are understood and to facilitate interaction between them in order to effectively design and implement climate policies by enabling both vertical and horizontal cooperation.
