Phase IV of the
Child Friendly Cities Program, implemented in cooperation with UNICEF, has been
extended with an additional budget of $605,000. The program will focus on early
childhood services, early child care services as well as disaster risk
reduction for children and youth. In addition, the Child-Focused Database,
which UNICEF and our Union have been working on, has been activated on our
Union's website. In the database, child-oriented expenditures will become
visible in the expenditures made by the municipalities.
The project aims to facilitate the access of Turkish and refugee children to early childhood education and care (ECEC) services and improve the quality of ECEC; increase the capacity of municipalities for child-sensitive disaster risk reduction; increase the capacity of municipalities to develop child-sensitive policies through strategic planning, budgeting and resourcing.
