Applications for the competition, which was announced on May 25, 2021, with the aim of strengthening the relations of young people with the municipality, ensuring that municipalities adopt an innovative service approach for young people, and supporting the personal development of young people, ended on August 2, 2021.
As a result of the competition, 25 municipalities received awards and each municipality was awarded 500,000 TL. The award ceremony of the competition was held at the "Youth Friendly Cities Congress and Exhibition" hosted by the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (UMT) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports on 24-25 August 2021, at Ankara ATO Congresium Congress and Exhibition Center with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
