The applications for the competition, which was announced on December 10, 2020 in order to improve the shelter and nutrition conditions of stray animals, ended on March 31, 2021.
Within the scope of the competition, 500.000 TL awards were given to 10 municipalities that were found successful as a result of the jury evaluation. The award ceremony was hosted by Keçiören Municipality on July 27, 2021 at Keçiören Street Animals Rehabilitation Center. The award ceremony was attended by Emine Erdoğan, wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; Dr. Bekir Pakdemirli, then Minister of Agriculture and Forestry; Fatma Şahin, Mayor of UMT and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality; Vasip Şahin, Governor of Ankara; Turgut Altınok, Mayor of Keçiören Municipality; the mayors of the awarded municipalities; and singer and actress Yonca Evcimik.
